PILKINGTON GLASS VISITOR CENTRE
The Pilkington Glass Visitor Centre near St Helens, Liverpool includes a refurbished Grade 2 Listed glass furnace building, new discrete exhibition halls and a glass pavilion. The scheme was developed with a concern for energy use as well as for visitor experience. The thermal mass of the brick diaphragm walls is used. The visitors centre was heritage lottery funded and was awarded the 2002 Golden Winner Of Excellence In England Awards For Tourism.
This project was executed with Geoffrey Reid Associates
